I am excited for the Seabound show this Wed at Luna in Royal Oak!!!
I am also breaking down and doing my first piece of "fan art".
I hate the idea of taking some else's artistic photo and redoing it.
At the same time, I need to recoup a large amount of my art supplies and buy a new camera so I can take photos to work from. This also involves buying a printer/copier/scanner. So around 300-400 dollars later I will most likely be ready to delve back into the field of art in a "serious" way .
Then I need to start talking to the girls I know who do modeling again.
Then I need to arrange times for photos to be taken. And when I say photos to be taken, I mean, one specific pose with one wide shot, and about 2-5 detail shots (hands, feet, face, jewelry, etc). The whole process from start to finish is less then half an hour. It's been forever since I've done this. My rusty ole art joints are protesting, but I will break out some oil and make sure they stop their bitching.
Ah how we suffer for our art. And I'm not even looking to delve back into the "scene" yet. Why am I doing this again? Oh, yeah, its cause if I don't I feel like I'm missing something like an amputee.
Dammit >.<
Hard to escape that shit.
As far as fan art goes, its kewl. I don't hate it entirely, its just that it feels like "copywork" to me, but then again, most art is merely a copy of life and therefore "copywork". I can't put a finger on why I dislike it that way, but I do.
Meh!!
In the meantime, I need to do something to keep my idle hands busy, so I figure why not take some of the shots that I enjoy of some very beautiful women on SG and do some "fan art".
Oh well, better then sitting here doing nothing and playing video games instead.
Soon, I will have some of those crazy picture blogs that all the cool kids seem to love, since walls of text are boring to most of the young ones these days. I blame MTV and video editors not letting us see more then 60 seconds before cutting to a new angle.....but that is neither here nor there.
