Went to a show at a cool bar last night. It was pretty fun. The violinist for the main act played with the other two bands. She had one of those....
Sorry a parade of hipsters just went by. They were singing and dancing and playing musical instruments. There was about 30-40 of them. Sweet. I love the hipster kids. I think I was born ten years too early.
Back to my story. So the girl that played with all three bands had one of those violins that plugs into an amp. Seeing/hearing one of those was a first for me. The music was the super emotional introspective type, but I go the feeling that she would totally rock out with that violin if given the chance.
The music wasn't my type of music - at one point one of the singers asked the bartenders to turn off the dishwasher because it was interfering with her singing. It was like being at a piano recital. You felt guilty talking too loud. People were whispering at the tables around us. Someone dropped and broke a glass and it was loud enough that people turned their heads to look. Super weird scene.
The best part of the night though was the company. Turns out an old friend of mine lives in the same city as me. I hadn't seen her in close to ten years. She still looks the same...pretty...always smiling...a little too cool for the likes of me. I got to talk about feminism, the nature v. nurture debate and suicidegirls. Can't beat that for a night of conversation. I'm glad we went to see the quiet bands where you could hear a pin drop.

Half your commenters probably did the same, they just won't admit it.
