Today is the start of a few days of vacation. The youngest son and I started early by staying up late last night and going outside and watching the stars. He is a big sci fi and science freak and wants to be an astronomer or astronaut when he grows up. We went outside with the star charts and plotted different constellations last night. We tried to stay up to watch Atlantis land. We fell asleep but the alarm went off and woke us up so we were able to see it land live. He was excited to see the last landing but sad that he will not be able to ride in the shuttle. He is mad that we do not have a manned space vehicle and that the next one is not planned for another 15 years. He thinks he will miss out on being an astroanut. I told him to learn Russian and maybe become a cosmonaut. He is thinking about it. I told him that maybe in 15 years it might be a more united space program something closer to the Star Trek model. That get him excited. We are going to head out to the beach or water park tomorrow for some fun in the sun and water.
