Alllllrighty. I have a story I need to tell, and it involves the movie I am Legend, so if you have not seen it and don't want the ending spoiled, please don't click on the spoiler tag.
SPOILERS! (Click to view)
My brother, his friend, and I were going to see the movie... it starts at 8:35 and we get there maybe 5 minutes late and get our tickets fast. I was thinking about getting a snack, but Kayle says there is "no time" and pulls me into the theatre.
So we get in there and it's really packed, and the movie is already playing which is weird enough as it is because the previews should still be going if we're just 5 minutes late.
So we're trying to find a seat and still glance at the movie too... after walking up and down the aisle rather loudly deciding where to sit we finally find a group of 3 seats down close to the front next to a big group of people, So we sit pretty much right next to them, and this entire time everyone in the theatre is looking at us really oddly, like we were doing something wrong
So we are watching the movie and notice that Will Smith is all bloody, there are zombies everywhere about to kill him, and he has an open grenade in his hand... He's getting flash backs about his family dying and their voices, etc.
I say to my brother "Dude... How much did we miss?!?" and the guy beside us like instantly bursts out laughing, so I look at my ticket, and it says 9:30 show time... I am like "Kayle... this is the end of the movie!"
He says "No way, we're just like 10 mminutes late" but I don't believe him and start to pull him out of the theatre saying "No man, this is the damn end, we gotta get out of here!" So as i'm like, literally running out of the theatre pulling him with everyone looking or laughing at us(We were really confused and talking loud so everyone knew) I look behind and Will Smith blows himself up.
Its not so much the fact that we caught the last part of the movie that was funny, its the fact that it was perfect timing. ANY other scene in the entire movie, we would have been able to go, ooops... this is the middle of the movie! and just leave, But this one 45 second scene(We were only in the theatre for about 45 seconds to a minute) we saw literally spoiled the ENTIRE movie.
The chances of that happening are just unreal... I mean, if we caught one stop light, or left 1 minute sooner, it would have all been different. Everything seemed to line up for this moment... even the drive in, we slowed down a few times to brake and check the roads, and even that would have probably been enough for us to avert this disaster.
We ended up seeing the movie at 9:30, but it wasn't very exciting because we knew what had happened so there wasn't that much of a shock factor to it.
I know this probably isn't close to as funny for you, but its hilarious to me, and i'm never gunna forget that laugh of the guy sitting beside me when I asked "Dude.... How much did we miss?!?" Sure hope we made his night with that one.
