Isn't it strange how the year is flying by so quickly. I realise that this is a cliched thing to say, but with each passing year, little by little, time seems to speed up.
I am not sure how to account for the past two and a half months. How did I get from A to B (in terms of temporal, rather than spatial, journeying)? It is a great mystery! I really am not sure what I could have been doing that could possibly have taken up 2 and a half months of my life. Perhaps, I was abducted by aliens, who performed strange experiments upon me and then deposited me back in my terrestrial life having conveniently erased my memories! Perhaps, I have been having blackouts and I have just had a particularly long blackout, one that was so long, it lasted for TWO AND A HALF MONTHS!!! Maybe, I have lain in sweet oblivion like some kind of sleeping beauty (or sleeping ugly, depending of course, upon the composition of the vitreous humour of the observer). Could it be that I am actually a secret agent and I've spent the past two and a half months receiving advanced hypnotic training to enable to me to perform my role but I wont remember any of it until some apparent stranger bumps into me at some random, quite coincidental bar and and while muttering an apology for his clumsiness happens to speak my trigger word. The possibilities are endless and I do not know which one to choose. Could this be a case for Mulder and Scully? The case of the missing two and a half months!!
Ok folks, its time for my weekly film review.
This weekend, I decided to put aside my prejudices and watch the new version of "Planet Of The Apes". I bought it cheap (I live near a shop that sells second hand dvds) a couple of weeks ago, but I hadn't got around to watching it because I really enjoyed the original "Planet Of The Apes" and I'd heard that the new one was rubbish. However, humans are inclined to be conservative by nature resisting change and rejecting anything new. You know the thing, "The old ways are the best", "When I was a lad food tasted better and they had proper tv shows like Muffin the mule and Bill and Ben the flower pot men", "I don't hold with these new-fangled whatchamatcallems" etc. Hence, I decided to give the new version a chance. I decided to try to be open-minded. After all, its just a few people running around in ape outfits. I mean surely, its not possible to mess up a film about people running around in ape outfits! Alas! I was wrong. The new version sucketh greatly. It doth suck arse mightily and one was not amused!
Meanwhile, I have now finished rereading Dune and I really enjoyed it (but then again, I knew I would).
