Today I had an appointment with my dentist for a routine checkup and ended up having a filling performed without anaesthetic.
The dentist informed me that I had a small cavity on one of my teeth and told me that, because it was a small cavity it wouldn't take long to fill it. She told me that first of all she would need to clean it up.
The next thing I knew she was drilling into my tooth. The procedure was over quite quickly. She explained afterwards that, for such a small cavity, there was no need to use anaesthetic.
To be fair, although it did hurt, it did not hurt too much. It hurt less than when I have a descale & polish (some of my teeth are very sensitive).
It would have been nice if she had explained up front that she was going to drill the tooth without anaesthetic. Telling me she was going to, "Clean it up" must have been her way of saying, "I'm going to drill a hole in that tooth".
Still, she is kind of hot (if you know what I mean) so I couldn't possibly complain.
