Thank you to those who sent there regards for my friend. It still seems like a bad joke. I have lost a number of people in my life and this is honestly the first one that has seemed so surreal. He wasn't a great friend but working with him 8 hours a day for 3 or 4 years he was still a friend. I am the type of person that people find comfort in when things go wrong. I guess it has something to do with my mellow demeanor or the fact that I just a generally nice guy to everyone. But at times it is a frustrating roll I have been handed in life. There are time, like this, when i feel i have to be strong for others and and I can not grieve over the lose of a friend. So, for now, this is my forum...
Chris was a good guy. I am not always sure he liked me or that i liked him but we always got along (if that makes any sense at all). He was a smart guy, things that is takes other months or years to learn Chris picked up in day or weeks. He was a good guy, you could count on him for anything. He loved life, he loved people. I remember so many things about him. the first day he started at work I can remember think "why the hell did they hire this cocky little kid to work here". It didn't take me long to see through his cocky exterior. Soon all of us saw that he was a just shy kid waiting to burst out of shell. Which he eventually did, and that was the Chris we all knew and loved. Chris was always good for a laugh, even at the worst times when the last thing you wanted to was laugh he would make you laugh. He was an all around good person liked by everyone that knew him.
Chris Budd, you were a great man, and I am sorry we were not as close as we could have been. You worked your ass, and did everything you could to help those around you. You touched every person you ever came in contact with and you will be missed dearly but all of us. Sleep well my friend, and may what ever god or gods you believe in take care of you the same way you took care of so many in this world.
