Hello friends!
I’ve been in Florida for the last week :D I just wanted to make an update post to 1)apologize for being absent and 2)talk about myself, duh!
This trip was the first time I’ve ever left the West Coast, or been South at all! I’ve been to Alaska, Montana, Idaho, and Nevada, but never any of the fun states, you know? I live near Seattle, but realistically it’s a tiny town a ways away from there with just one stop light— so this trip was a huge deal for me! Hopefully it starts a trend of many travels to come. I would love to be one of those hot baddies like Penny or Rio that travels for work, but also gets to see dope places while doing it.
We originally planned to go to Miami to attend Art Basel, but honestly it sounded boring and we didn’t end up going at all. We went to two parties, one of which had auctions for NFTs (going for like $20,000!) and one that was at a rich guy’s airbnb, that started as brunch but there was no coffee OR orange juice 🙄 They were both very cool experiences but I was very out of my element. Here’s a pic:
At the brunch, there was a beautiful Turkish girl who was a performer, and she was talking to me, and she just casually mentioned how much she hates her dress but it was $400 so she’s wearing it….meanwhile I’m in a $13 romper from Ross! I certainly stepped out of my socioeconomic comfort zone. OH! I forgot to mention that this brunch had two DJs performing.
I was the only person with ‘weird’ colored hair, and I’m pretty sure I was the only person with a Switch and a Gameboy in my backpack.. I was definitely playing Genshin Impact on my phone while waiting for “brunch” to happen. All I could think was how many things these people could do with their money other than spend it on NFTs! Think of all the cheeseburgers, or Switch games.
Instead of going to Art Basel we went and saw all of the different trees, tried all of the different foods, and it has been so much fun.
We went to something called the Night Garden in Miami, and it was so gorgeous! We tried to get pictures of my butt in places it was not supposed to be, but there were sooo many kids 😅
At this moment, I’m sitting at a smoothie bar in St. Pete (they have those here!) and writing this post to you! Here are some of the things I’ve done and seen during my first trip to Florida;
Honestly, I’m the most excited about the food I’ve tried this trip! I tried Brazilian food, Greek food, Cuban food, AND REAL PIZZA!!! I had no idea what absolute garbage I’ve been eating when I order pizza. I don’t know how I’m supposed to go back… I may buy a pizza stone and try to make my own, because it doesn’t seem that hard.
Another thing that I’ve been entertained by in Florida is the traffic! Man, it’s lawless out here. People just do what they’re going to do and that’s that. It’s hilarious! Everyone is so vocal with their horns, and aggressive but not in a mean way, just in a “get the fuck out of my way” way. Running across 6 lane highways in the middle of traffic is also a thing I found to be wild.
I saw a gecko in my bathroom at the first airbnb! And then at the airbnb that had the outdoor shower (which you saw if you follow my Instagram) had TWO different lizards, one of which chilled on top of the shed next to the outdoor showered while i was showering one day. They’re so funny! And the birds, the birds are crazy. I have always thought I hated birds but I think I just hate crows. Herons and sand pipers are SO funny! Oh and I saw a stone crab and a blue crab. The pelican was ugly andThis was my first time being at a beach that wasn’t in the PNW. I’ve never seen white sand! I can’t believe how soft it is. I can’t wait to go somewhere like this when it’s a little warmer and actually chill on a beach in a bathing suit. I also saw a dolphin! Just cruising in the ocean, but I saw it come up!
Anyways, I just wanted to talk about this experience as well as explain my absence following my epic ascent to a fully pink Suicide Girl! It’s almost time to get on my grind and get some work done 💪
