Roky Erickson
I had recently some friends from Berlin staying at my place. I took a few days off to spend some time with them in Venice, Santa Monica, Malibu, and LA but then I had to go back to work and they were traveling up and down the coast. While I was at a conference in Boston, MA, I met a lot of my former colleagues from Berlin, Amsterdam, and London. It was really great to meet all of them again. Beside the official, work related, conference we were drinking a lot in Bukowski's Tavern (50 Dalton St) which has a variety of really good beers (especially from Belgium). After rushing back to LA I took off for the weekend in SF to meet my friends from Berlin again before they took the plane to NY. With all that drinking and travelling my stomach went on strike and therefore I'm home now - recovering.

So that was three weeks of dealing with my past and one of the nice things I remembered was music. We spend a lot of time looking for old records. Roky Erikson was long time forgotten (not just by me) and it looks like he had a comeback last year. I bought a CD (I Have Always Been Here Before) with a lot of his old stuff (The Spades, 13th Floor Elevators) on it and if you would like a little example how his music sounds, here it is:
Anthem (I Promise)
Burn The Flames

I'm Gonna Free Her
