My interactions and detached appreciation for truckers has suddenly increased, always a plus, and a lot of the reason has to do with the fact me and my mates used to grow some stubble, dress up in dirty vests and plaid flannels, and don black hats that said "Good guys where white hats" before heading off to the nearest truck-stop for some coffee at 2 AM. Glory days! What a world this is.
I picked up New Avengers: Illuminati because I'm a sucker for a bloke wearing an orange glove with shiny, otherworldly gems on them. The IG, that old gauntlet of the infinite, makes its return in the hands of uber-mensch Reed Richards. Isn't the gauntlet just the gems collected together? That's what I always thought, but there is some ambiguity here regarding that. I've always been a sucker for the powers cosmic, silvery looking folk, and people with flames coming out of their heads, in part because good cosmic level stories always tended to involve some exploration of the a characters psyche in an extreme condition. Boon-dis gives us some subtle impressions of that, but does not grant us any real bubble bursters.
Reed's actions are kept above-board and on level with his fellow Illuminus' reactions. He's possibly feeling a little less special than usual, considering he's in the same room with Xavier, Stark, Strange, Namor, and Black Bolt. The handle "Mr. Fantastic" don't hold as much water round them parts I'd imagine, so he's trying to give himself a place among them, uber-being. The hinting is always intriguing when it comes from BMB, and I'll be looking for some reveals later on.

I dunno if Reed could feel inadequate around ANYone. He is very fucking fantastic.
