I love Thanksgiving. I love that it's not overblown and bloated commercial crap like Christmas, and that it's all about eating and giving thanks, even in the shitty times. I had a quiet day with my Mom and a friend and didn't eat too much because I would be in a food coma today, at work. We had a really tasty organic turkey, green beans, sweet potatoes, asparagus, pumpkin pie, and the candy I only eat on super rare occasions...these toffee chocolate nut covered things from Trader Joe's. So it was a pretty good day for me.
So I called up my Dad to wish him a happy thanksgiving and he didn't have such a great one... I've been borrowing a car for a while now, and my Dad has been working on a car to give to me, cause I just can't afford a new car, right now. He's got this 1989 Lincoln Mark VII with only like 40000 miles on it. So he's been fixing it up to give to me, and I was going to pick it up this weekend. Apparently, that's not going to happen, as he had some problems with the brakes and didn't get the parts in till the other day. Anyways, he was working on a job for someone and had to cut some rubber...so he hops on his bandsaw and the rubber cuts back and slices his hands up really good. -_- He's on blood thinners for his heart, so he was bleeding like crazy. He had to get like 26 stitches. My dad has the worst luck, ever. He was even apologizing to me for not being able to put the brakes on this weekend. If I could have bonked him on the head; I would have.
That being said, I saw possibly the greatest thing ever this morning:
The Muppets version of Bohemian Rhapsody. Beaker is my hero, although I look more like Bunsen.
Hope everyone else had a great holiday!
