Well, the story can finally be told.
Seems last week some soldiers in other companies decided to get drunk and do Very Stupid Things, which understandably rubbed the Korean people the wrong way. Some of them like us here, and some of them don't, but given they're all pretty pissed at us over the scandal in Iraq, the Very Stupid Things really went up people's asses sideways. So, there were protests outside the gates of posts last week, and from what someone who was planning (was, important word) planning on eating off post on Friday, they were throwing bottles and shit...so. We have this one small small post that we (my company) are resposible for, since they have just the people there to do what thier jobs are and no people for guard or anything, we have to go over and defend them in case of any trouble or emergancies. All hail the Q.R.F, baby. And since I was on the Q.R.F (Quick Reactionary Force) when we did a "The North Koreans Are Coming" training there a month ago, guess who was on the list again this time?
We couldn't drink or go anywhere off post where we couldn't be back in an hour, until 8 last night. This didn't impact my plans any, since I don't drink or go anywhere, but it did teach me to get in a good mood and not fear reprisal.
Ph34r not, gentle readers, nothing happened and mesa safe.
The one friend I have here fucked me out of Day of the Dead last night though. His room mate and friends decided around 7 that they were going drinking (since we all felt we were out of the Oh Shit Danger Zone then), and being weak-minded and sumbject to Dumbass Mind Tricks as he is, my friend decided to go with them, despite me asking him on Monday if he wanted to go see it. I realize I could have gone by myself, but by the time 7:30 rolled around I didn't care anymore and popped in disc 6 of RahXephon. I did manage to catch NWA-TNA on cable, so now I know when the fuck it comes on tv saturday night. Insert the FF victory theme right there, baby.
Fell asleep on the roomies bed watching Love Hina last night (well, more like staring in the tvs direction, I was pretty almost asleep then), woke up at 6, went to my bed, somehow fell back asleep until 12. I found a cool webcomic called
Ctrl+Alt+Del that was very good, and ended up reading it's entire run in 3 sittings (ah, yes, I make my own fun), and paid my bills.
Now I'm going to go watch Vanilla Sky, because Silent Hill 3 makes me feel dumb and the way my roomie has his computer stuff set up is uncomfy.
Back to work (and hopefully finding out the second half of Amazon order decided to get here) tomorrow.
Oh, yeah, I finally have a mailbox. Sw337.
And it was very nice talking to you April ^_^
