I had a fabulous weekend!!! I went to Asheville to visit my oldest friend (we've been close since we were 12) along with my best friend/ photographer. We also visited a friend of hers, who I love talking about designo stuff with, and my oldest friend's roommate, with whom I ended up on a 3-day hook-up spree. (NO, we are NOT dating... no, really. I swear. But it was really fun! And he got added to the running talley of people who say I have the best orgasms ever, which is always good.) It was Belle Chere weekend (big hippie festival), but I managed to avoid most of it. A group went to this AMAZING drag show and I had the most womanly moment of my life-- a fabulous drag queen kissed me. She was performing and I tipped her and she just leaned forward and planted one on my right breast. I felt like she was my queen fairy godmother and it was beautiful.
Also had a fun time dancing on (and falling on) a watermelon-coveded floor with my oldest friend and doing Karen O. impressions at her co-worker's request. ("Be my heater, be my lover/ And we can do it to each other")
Oh, and I went to my favorite Asheville restaurant, which is all vegetarian and DELICIOUS! Yeah for Mayan black bean pie with quinoa and guacamole! And for Italian margaritas... mmmmm...
Tonight I drove back to Raleigh and went to dinner with my future roommates (grilled eggplant with mozzarella and Thai basil-- yum!). Then we walked through the apartment and figured out all the moving details, like who's buying a microwave and how to resolve conflicts about dishes and trash and why the straight one and I can't date while living together. You know, the usual. I am so excited about them moving in!!!
