OCTOBER! I fucking love this month. As I type this, Daniel says, and I quote, "This is officially the most expensive month ever for me". That is because both of our birthdays fall in this month, along with a million others. October babies are the best, but it does rack up quite the birthday present bill. Not to mention our 2nd anniversary is November 1st, and we try to be cute by buying eachother fancy presents.
School is lovely this term. I'm in a sociology of criminology class, as well as a community education class where we design campaigns to combat sexual assault on the campus. I've already been labelled the class expert many times in my sexual assault class, so you can imagine how jaded I am on the reading material since I know it all. Some douche joined our class just to be an ass, and declared last week that sexual assault would stop completely if we taught girls not to wear "their panties poking out of their pants, or short skirts" because we're just triggering men with our obvious teasing. The guest speaker (a woman) proceeded to tell him that she likes guys in boxers, but that doesn't mean when she sees some guy with his boxers hanging out of his pants that she has to walk up and whack him off or sodomize him. Even though her example was funny, and so true, he still didn't get it that sexual assault happens regardless of what women are wearing. DOUCHE!
I'm trying not to talk about it much (in an effort not to jinx myself again), but a job posting went up at the crisis line where I am a working volunteer. I'm a trained domestic violence advocate, and just recently finished training in the sexual assault program. Anyway, I have been hoping to get a (paid) job there in any form since I'm still in that awful accounting office, and have been applying for anything that comes up. They had a crisis line job open up, but it was doing overnights Fridays and Saturdays, and I wouldn't make enough to live. So anyway, on Friday the sexual assault program put up a posting for a 30-hour direct service sexual assault position. I'm totally applying, and praying that my hours with classes will work out for them, allowing me to have the job. Basically what us sexual assault advocates do is respond to the hospital, police station, court, etc. when someone has been sexually assaulted. We help them through the process, sit in on the rape kit exam, and whatever else the survivor needs to get them through the process. It's really the most fulfilling thing I have ever done in my life, so I sooo hope I get this job. It pays well for being a social service job, so I have the feeling I'll have some stiff competition. KEEP YO FINGAS CROSSED! I've been turned down by a job at a domestic violence shelter, and had to turn down the crisis line specialist job last week, so I hope I don't have to face another round of disappointment with this one.
That's all... I've written way more than I have in the past 6 months combined.

Glad you're actually enjoying school as of now. Not many can say that...
GOOD LUCK ON THE JOB! I got my fingas crossed for you.
