Some days ago I had a conversation with a friend of mine while we were playing Magic the Gathering. It was about angels god Lucyfer and stuf like that. He told me the story about Lucyfer, how he was an angel the greatest of all but he wanted to take god's place and then Gabriel who was lower clas angel than Lucyfer fought him and won and then Lucyfer left the heavens etc. So I wandered if he was just a selfish angel or a rebel that wanted to be god's servant no more. My friend told me that he is a jerk and he is the bad guy but I claimed he is a rebel trying to get away from being just a slave and he tried to be the master. Anyway I wandered how you would judge him and made thease questions below. have fun wink

angels were created to be gods servants and helpers, a lot of angels actually represent different aspects of god like justice and vengeance but in the end god held absolute power and the humans were his favourites, not the angels who were merely created to help.

Lucifer didn't like this order, he felt angels were far superior to men and god had no right to be that all powerfull, he didn't want to overthrow god initially but he no longer wished to be a mere servant either.
obviously god didn't tolerate this and there was a great schism where the normal angels fought lucifer and the angels he managed to convince to join his side.

in the end lucifer and all his followers were cast down into hell where eventually lucifer became Satan or the devil or whatever you like to call him.
the angels that followed lucifer became the Fallen or Fallen Angels.

there was even a very interesting new kind of angel created because of this.
a normal angel cannot harm others but god could not suffer lucifer and his fallen angels to remain either so god created the Seraphim.
the seraphim are a type of avenging angels with the sole purpose of hunting down and eradicating the fallen angels wherever they find them.
the texts say that fallen angels have four faces, that of a man, a angel, a lion and a lamb if i remember right, what really sets the seraphim apart is that they're allowed to use any means necesary if it means they get closer to eradicating the fallen angels, that includes the harming or killing of innocents, something normal servants of god can't do.
