Hi all! Happy holidays! I am a LBGTQ advocate and ally. The holidays can be especially hard for LBGTQ people/teens. A dear friend of mine has a beautiful trans son, Connor, 16 years old, who is struggling with suicidal depression currently. He is safe and under constant supervision for now. What fueled this latest episode was isolation and exclusion Connor is experiencing at school. He feels he has no friends and would be better off dead than excluded, misunderstood and lonely. I have embarked on a project called “Team Connor “ where I am collecting short videos of people offering words of support and/or sharing their stories of how they overcame depression and/or loneliness. I started by asking my close friends for support and to my shock and surprise a lot of my friends left me hanging due to their religious or moral beliefs. Unbelievable. So I have been online all day contacting any and every group I can contact for support. If you would like to submit a short video or letter of support you can do so to kya@noiregrimoire.com. Please start all videos by introducing yourself as such “ Hello my name is ____ and I’m for Team Connor”. Please address all letters/emails to Connor. I really appreciate everyone’s help! Please be thankful for your healthy children and be compassionate for those who are struggling even if you don’t understand or support their lifestyle. No one deserves to be treated as if they are invisible. While every parent is running around trying to purchase all the toys on their child’s Christmas list, the only thing on Connors Christmas list is a friend. You can’t buy that and as a parent how do you not fall apart? You don’t fall apart when you have amazing ally’s that rush in to provide support when your legs are just about to give out. That’s what I’m collecting this Christmas, emotional and spiritual support for a deserving family in need🖤. I will be collecting all submissions until Sunday afternoon👏🏽. People often say that you can’t change the world. That is false. If you want to change the world, start with a child. Positively influence and affect their perception/perspectives, then you have changed the world 🌎🙏🏽✊🏽❤️🏳️🌈🌈
