So I'm at borders yesterday and I stumbled upon an extraordinary find.
I havent followed the Transformers comic universe since Dreamwave collapsed because I honestly didnt really like the artwork as much and the directions that IDW has gone with it....at least at first. It seems from what I've seen coming out lately its picked up and gone in better directions however I don't like that IDW has taken the liberty to retcon a lot of Tfs established lore for their own universe.
But I was going through the graphic novel section at borders and discovered a giant TF graphic novel titled TRANSFORMERS BEAST WARS: OMNIBUS and what this is, is a three chapter comic series that takes place in the retconed IDW universe of Beast Wars, where in an alternate kinda time stream a second Beast Wars is taking place, that utilizes all the toys/characters from the series that never made it into the TV show.
Its actually really good and written by Transformers scribe Simon Furman. I defiantly liked the ending and how it ties into the events of Beast Machines.
The second half of the book is the character profile of every single Transformer from the toy and animated series, similar to the MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE series by Dreamwave, with profiles on all the G1 characters.
So if you're a fan of Transformers, specifically the beast era, this a must own.
