just when you think it can't get any worse, it does.

so, the past 2 months have been quite shitty. i've felt so emotionally drained, but for no specific reason.
unfortunately, now there is a reason.
my dog suddenly got sick last tuesday nyte (and by suddenly i mean one minute he was fine, the next he was acting all sorts of fucked up). we brought him to the emergency vet, where they did x-rays and full bloodwork. the vet didn't think anything was seriously wrong, so he came home. he went to our regular vet the following day for observation just in case, and they thought they saw some type of mass in the x-rays. he stayed for a few more days at the vets, being observed and all. today, he had an appointment for an ultrasound. he has a bowel tumor. good news is that it appears to be operable, bad news is that he has a severe heart murmur so surgery may not be an option. the ultrasound findings still have to be discussed with our vet and cardiologist so we can decide what is the best method of dealing with this. being the pessimist that i am, i'm "preparing" myself for the worst possible senario. i feel like crying, but i don't even have the energy.
