ok update. up to the moment: sitting here making lunch and listening to an eclectic mix of music off my universal mp3. highlights being Ben Harper's live Ground on Down, lots of Collide, some Trespassers William,London Suede, techno to David Bowie to Slipknot to Ella Fitzgerald. just looking through my music files for neglected songs to listen to.
lunch. trying a tuna melt thing. mixed tuna with a peach and pepper (smoked bell and habanero) marinade. sweet and spicy. on buttermilk bread with melted muenster cheese sliced tomato and red onion. we'll see how it goes. having it with OJ over ice and for desert boubron and coke and chocolate chip cookies.
life updates. Katy flew home on Tuesday morning. It was an excellent visit and neither of us wanted for her to go. it's odd to me how comfortable we are with each other. I'm usually very wary of sharing my space and I've never had a girlfriend stay over for weeks at a time. still very much in the disgustingly in love phase.
she's gotten to like riding on the motorcycle which makes me very happy. it's such a big part of my life and something I love so much, I like that I can share that with her. And the original seat was shipped to me so next time she comes down (in November) she'll have a more comfortable sit.
worked 52 hours in four days this week. not working today, which is probably a good thing. could use the money, but could use the time off more. have to start being better with my money though.
watching Rita's approach and hoping that Houston and Galveston et al come out ok.Have family in Corpus Christi which seems to be less in the direct path and that's good. and I would like for gas not to go up to $5 a gallon, but if it does...*shrug* I ride a motorcycle and live 5 miles from my work. I'll just stay home more. (ties in with the not spending money)
a (somewhat) brief note on the current catagory 4 drama that seems to be sweeping SG at the moment. I've got friends and people who I honestly like and respect on both sides of the argument and so I'm trying to keep an ear open to both (luckily I have two ears?). I can't say I'm as in love with SG as I was years ago. I guess I've been around it long enough to remember when it was more indie than marketed. I think the site has managed grow amazingly and I guess the changes I note are a byproduct of that growth. my focus is always going to be on the friends I've made here. I can't even keep up with all the girls and groups and news stories and whatnot.
it saddens me that I have to split my time between the maze of SG and the maze of myspace now. I'm not walking away from SG. I've still got too many good friends on here for that. But I'm not gonna ignore or discount as "hatin'" the things I'm hearing from outside the site either.
if the archived girls had been included like this from the beginning I probably wouldn't even care. but the move seems...suspect. and I'm sorry but the "girls leave all the time. this is nothing new...move on...nothing to see here" argument isn't holding up to losing several girls a day. and the form letter dismissal is starting to wear on me.
Voltaire is staying in my favorites because she, like my other favorites, are some of my favorite people regardless of their status of naked hot chicks.
ok not at all brief.
the sandwich was pretty good. not as spicy as I expected. the muenster cheese probably nuetralized it.

It's looking like I will extend for a year, ease my way back in through part-time classes, and go for UNC next winter. Sigh. It was looking there, for a little bit.
