I took a short vacation in December before the holidays. I went to Baltimore and Washington, D.C., and to New York. I saw some good friends and had a great time and took a ton of photos, that I've just recently finished with.
Which is kinda silly of me. I take vacation photos...weed out all the ones that are out of focus or not particularly interesting...and then spend probably waaaaay too much time cropping and sizing and doing light and color correction and tone mapping and all sorts of ridiculousness...for vacation photos. anyhow. Then I look at all this ridiculousness for where to upload them...here? facebook? one of my other three accounts that I use to purchase prints from? I just put them all up on my flickr at this point, rather than repost them in various sizes all over the internet. It's silly, but my paper based paradigm still somehow sees it as wasteful to upload them to a bunch of different places. smile

so the photos are over here.

Other than that...not much else going on at the moment. It's winter. It's raining. Work is abysmally slow...so that I don't even go in many days...or if I do it's just for a few hours. Which would be AWESOME...if I didn't need money. (come on tax refund!) But I've spent a lot of time reading and wasting time on the internet (and messing with vacation photos) and spending time with friends. Recently came into a wealth of books that puts me even farther behind in catching up...yay!
today is a rainy day. so a good day to catch up on that reading.

saw a few movies lately. Thoroughly enjoyed Sherlock Holmes. Avatar in 3d at the IMAX was BEAUTIFUL...but the story made me want to retch a little. It's like they did a beautiful painting over Dances With Wolves and repackaged it for the holidays. That and yet another storyline of "what-these-savages-need-is-a-honky-with-a-heart-of-gold-to-save-them" is a bit old.

have 9 here at home to watch now. wanted to see it in the theater.

ok that's enough for now.
