crazy week. packing up the apartment to move. Going to see how much of my old belongings I can jettison. I don't actually get nostalgic much over items, so I don't know what all I have that I'll want to get rid of. Donate away some clothes, I'm sure.
anyone want a massivehuge CRT computer monitor. the thing's a beast. going to be fun/interesting resetting my apartment as I want it. My newer one will be considerably smaller than the one I have now. but I think I'll still have plenty of wall space. need to get some more frames and make more prints. I dunno. moving is a pain in the ass, but sloughing off the detrius accumulated by living in one place for a few years and moving to a new environment is always interesting. it's the closest I'll get to travel at least until the summer is over.
I think 70% of my wall space will actually end up being covered over with my bookshelves. I can't bring myself to sell off my books ever. If I get a book and don't like it, I give it away. If I like it...I keep it. I still have a ton of old fantasy/sci fi books from middle school all the way through college (ten years ago) they have thier own smaller bookshelves. oh. and I am a horrible magazine addict. I recycle or donate most of them to the used book store, but I also keep way too many of them. Pictures to follow. I'll document the move...or at least the new apartment soon.
still not ecstatic about my job, but it's much better now that I've moved departments. I'm actually a technician now rather than just a highle skilled labourer. it can be kinda fun actually diagnosing and solving problems.
getting shocked on a regular basis isn't fun though. hopefully it'll keep being 24Volt stuff and not the 240.
gotta say though. I do miss being on the road, heading nowhere in route somewhere.
*keeping my fingers crossed that Carolina at least cancels out Indiana so that Hillary can't claim some kind of "victory" by making up 2 delegates on his lead*

now this:
angels pulling the ship in either direction. I'm talking about an image from an old manuscript illumination...I wish I could remembe the source...I'll have to try and find it. Anyway it's from a story of a ship that was stranded and becalmed. when the wind finally returned to move the ship it was shown in the illumination as an angel with a rope over its shoulder pulling the ship along. but using that as the image rather then the angels as figureheads would take more room and the angels wouldn't actually be part of the ship. I just remembered the image, but I don't know it that would work for you.
Last night I took the lap and had my artist read your comment. He said "o fuck yea"
"lets make the robes red and ragged at the ends with a rope around their waist, old looking and protecting this ship for a very long time.
he and I both loved the idea. Your lastest comment above now has my mind justa thinking. Im going back to give him a full image of my waist (although he has seen it) so he can free hand several ideas.
He actually got more excited than I did about this.
Black Rebel, Im still in awe. I am just going to get to shot before, during and after?? the show. I was to nervous to ask to do anything else. When one of them commented on my myspace, I was even more nervous. Just saying I stepped out and now I have to dive on in. I shall wear my boots. WIll feel more confidant.
I decided to use a tea bag stain to wash over these photos and nail them onto this huge piece of wood. I showed it to the parents of the little feet. I found out they are opening up a coffee shop and want my art in their shop. He wants this entire wood thing Im working on. What's neat is that I had not planned to put it anywhere but over my piano. I wonder now if this is something I can make and sell. The other cool thing is I will have some of my photogaphy displayed.
Books: I cannot get rid of mine either. Space: has learned to get rid of clothes.
New place: fun.. has new smell until you make it your own.
