still without a computer, but that should be remedied tomorrow. I've already called the shop that I dropped it off at more than three weeks to ago to let them know I'd be there tomorrow to pick it up, whether they had completed the repair or not. I also informed them that I am going to be speaking with them about the charges for said repair as my work order has an "estimated time of return" set at ONE week to ten days. and here I am very nearly a month later still without my computer.
I've managed fairly well without it, popping into the computer lab here at the apartment complex from time to time to catch up on a few things. It's amazing how much of my life I can manage thru my cellphone now. I can do most of my banking thru there and even have limited and infuraiatingly slow access to email and even myspace...so I can at least recieve messages.
Next week is looking nigh on awesome. I'm only working three days. Katy has somehow managed to score, not just one, but TWO seperate sets of passes to sneak screenings of movies. One for monday is the new Ang Lee movie. It's all NC-17 and stuff. woo! but I'll have you all know out there in internet land, that I intend to view this as the dramatic piece that the man intended....with some nudie mixed in. No, really, I am looking forward to seeing it.
and then for tuesday, she has passes for us to go see the new Elizabeth: The Golden Age. She's all very excited for that one. Katy is an absolute nut for Queen Elizabeth. We've watched just about every movie made about her, including the first one that Cate Blanchett made and the recent PBS outing. I'm pretty sure that I will enjoy it.
and then on Thursday I am OFF on my cavation! CAVATION! I will have a fair amount of running around ,I'm sure, pror to flying out. But sometime around noon Thursday next, I'll be in the air and headed for New York City to hang out with at least a couple of youse guys. Was thinking about it, and i haven't spent any time around Howard since the day before I headed out on my last adventure around the US and then to Europe....that was back in 2003. lots of catching up to do.
So...I'm very much looking forward to the coming week. Going to spend this weekend mostly down in San Antonio, visitng friends and family. My dad is doing better and still recovering from the cancer removal surgery. He's waiting to find out if he'll have to resume the chemotherapy treatments in a month or so. Other exciting news: my younger brother managed to get himself bit by a water moccasin snake. It must have been a large one (the fang marks for four inches apart). He's currently laid up in a hospital bed in Corpus Christi. The had to open up his leg from ankle to...ahem. not so fun for him I imagine.
ack have to run and update more later. My time on the computer is over.
Take care, ladies and gents...and the rest of you too. and I'll be seeing some of you here in less than a week.
la revedere.
