not too much going on of late. just having a nice quiet lazy sunday morning right now. some coffee, my cat in my lap. simple goodness. stayed up to late last night trying to beat Onimusha 2. Found myself in the trap of being on the final, fucking difficult as hell, stage and not having what I need to beat it without a lot of luck. oh well.
earlier this weekend I finally got around to seeing united 93. I liked it. It felt pretty honest, and I don't care to hear the conspiracy theories. However that plane went down, I can't help but sympathize with those passengers. I certainly liked it better than Stone's Twin Towers movie. That movie was ok but it came off like a made for tv movie. I should have the same level of sympathy for the people portrayed in that movie, maybe even more, but it just didn't do as good a job making me feel it.
Also watched a bunch of jan svankmeyer short films. it was my own little slightly disturning version of saturday morning cartoons yesterday.
Katy is getting me into the tv show American Gothic. it's really well done for not being a larger budget production. good story and it's not ridiculous with the supernatural elements. I might not put it as high as X-files, but it's easily up there with Dead Like Me and maybe Carnivale.
a few weeks ago it was snowing and austin was freekin cold. this last week it got up to just short of 90, even while snow is still getting dumped in the northern midwest and northeast. once again I am very happy to be living in Texas. now if I can just get the motorcycle roadworthy again (flat tire and some basic mantainence issues), I can get out and enjoy the weather.
have my maternal unit and a friend from Seattle, a former member here actually, both flying into town this weekend, so that should keep my busy if I can get ahold of either of them.

How's things for you? It always sounds like you're having a pretty good time of it when I read your journal. I'll go back and look, but I'm guessing you haven't made it out this way in a while. I was thinking about going to visit Austin sometime this year - might look you up
Ah, well.
Glad to hear things are going well for you. I'm getting ready for a couple of vacations (well, one is a training trip... in Vegas), and hopefully I'll be back in the groove afterwards.
