guess it's been a while since I updated this. just haven't felt like it. 
my Halloween went well. I didn't go out or do anything extravagant due to my financial situation...which isn't horribly and work is remaining steady enough to keep my from freaking, but winter is the slow season and it was already a slow end of summer. within a month I'll probably be lucky to work 20 hours a week...at least that's what I have to be prepared for.
infinitelykaty and I went and saw the Nightmare before Christmas in 3D, which was awesome. I get more little kid hyped about Halloween than I do about Christmas or any other holiday. It was a lot of fun and let me regress slightly to 12 years old (from 15).
really wanted to go to the Dia De Los Muertes parade downtown afterward, but came home and fell asleep instead. I dreamed of Marigolds..so I guess that counts. Halloween passed here at the apartment watching Silent Hill on DVD and drinking some Laird's Applejack. I mixed it with some of that Odawalla juice stuff and some Sprite to thin it out...was good. we also didnt' get a single trick or treator...so now we have a huge bag of Reese's assorted peanutbutter and chocolate type candies to get through...which I am trying mightly to avoid at least until after this weekend. Friday is the Marine Corps' Birthday and I have a physical fitness test (situps, pullups, and a 3 mile run) followed by the annual formal ball. THe one time each year I HAVE to squeeze into my dress blues uniform. This time I am introducing all the honored guests and explaining the ceremony, so I have to get super gussied up with my shiny medals and ribbons and all that jazz. hurrah. I just hope I don't pop all the buttons off with too deep of an inhale.
things are going well. Ico the Tasmanian Kitten is getting BIG. he went for some shots this weekend and he's gone from under 2 pounds to almost 5 and a half! in just a couple months. fatty lil pear shaped kitten!
he's being super loving on my lap and trying to interfere with my typing.
got out of work early to vote. was a super long line...the longest I've ever seen...so that's encouraging.
Katy is up working at one of the polling sites (she's working the poles...heh heh heh.....I said "poles" heh heh)
and is stuck there until later this evening.
hoping the awesome Texas autumnal weather holds out...mid 80's during the day and down into the lower 60's at night. want to get out to Lost Maples State Park maybe and check out actual leaves that change. the local oaks don't really turn anything other than brown.
