still waiting to get the main battleship computer fixed. Motherboard has been sent and probably got delivered while I was at work so I'll have to wait until Monday to pick it up from the office. Until then I continue chugging along with the little steam powered cruiser laptop and cell phone dialup internets. :/
I would pick up my motherboard and work on getting it installed tomorrow but I got one of those...
"mmm yeah...I'm gonna need you to come in on Saturday..."
530am on Saturday! I'd be really pissed about it if I didn't need the money so badly. working tomorrow will help to cover that I am taking Thursday and Friday off to go to Louisianna to shoot the annual rifle qualification course for the Marines. And since my bank account was at -$35 yesterday (managed to get it back up...though still can't pay March rent till monday) I can use all the funds I can get ahold of.
Did my online application today to get back into school. It's not even close to registering for classes, but at least it gets some of the initial paperwork out of the way. I am still waiting on the official Dept of Defense Document that showed I went to Iraq so I can get my VA benefits to pay for school. Funny that. I've been waiting ten months for that document; the whole time my time to use those benefits dwindling away (you can only use them as a Reservist while you are still active with a unit...which means if you get deployed..oh well...that's just time you lost, sorry...not really) and YET I get a dental exam and get the paper work telling me I have to get my teeth fixed at my own expense (see last journal for full rant) within 3 weeks. Assholes.
Finally got the Serenity movie from Netflix and watched it. I liked it ok, but I liked the series a LOT more. The feel of the series was better. And the whole premise of the show, Whedon says, is to steer clear of the epic space drama and high arching plots of universal importance and focus instead on this little brigand crew. And in the tv series it works, but then the movie shoots straight to one of those overarching plots and in doing so abandons a great part of the charm of the show. and the transition from the episodes to the movie is....roughly done. Things that happened in the movie I can see why, but I question the manner they were done.
anyhow. I enjoyed the movie, but I won't buy it. I will probably buy the series dvds though.
tonight either gonna watch The Machinest or 25th Hour again.
looking at my schedule. Sunday off then working basically through the following Sunday and then through that next week again until Thursday. so 12 days without a day off coming up. really looking forward to that.
