Ugh, tiring day at work which didn't go as well as I'd hoped it could/might. Just gotta get into the groove of serving the food to the masses. Working at the OG has created a brand new appreciation (or should I say disgust) with gluttony.
Take this table. Four people, all of a slightly larger persuasion (not that I have room to speak..haha, fat joke, room to speak, oy). They ask, MAKE SURE, they get low-fat dressing on their salad, diet cokes, etc. etc. then what do they order? Stuffed Chicken Marsala (chicken stuffed with cheeses and served with mashed pertaters topped off with cream sauce) and the Tour (lasagna AND Chicken Parmagiana AND Fett Alf) a serving of alfredo which is equivalent in fat to 36 slices of bacon!!!, granted it's a half portion which is only 18 slices of bacon, way to cut down...I mean, what? what the hell? I...just...don;t...get it!!! I'm not one to talk, I appreciate fine food, and I'm no stick, but COME ON! And they tipped like shit - and thought it was good. *sigh*
On the PLUS side...and this is a BIG plus. I sold my largest (and most expensive) piece at my art exhibition which made me happy. It's not really enough to write home about - nor enough to pay the bills, but it's recognition of some sort (or someone thought that red was somethign to put in their den). It's a large portrait called "Julie in a Hat the Artist Liked" - and yes, I dig it. I want to paint more, and I will, as I have 16 paintings due next semester. Woot. Any SG girls in the central illinois area care to pose?
And then tonight, in an hour, I head out to the bars with friends, something i've been looking forward to for 2 weeks at least. then more work. then auditions for Love's Labours Lost, and more projects. So goes my life, never a breather.
