So when you are pretty much forced to take a tourism class (or lose full time student status because all your other classes aren't available atm because a professor took the semester off >_< and your teacher tries to convince you that a trip to Old Salem is an awesome idea for your class...don't believe him. He is full of LIES.
I woke up before 8 this morning to drive two hours there (alone), and walked around Old Salem all day today with equally uncomfortable classmates. We watched people in period clothing walking about, asked them questions, walked some more, picked on people for lack of anything interesting to do, and all in all took the day in in a daze. It was awkward. I never think of myself coming from a society like the one they tried to show us. For one, if I did I'd probably be a ton more religious, and I'm Catholic, so obviously I'm not. lol
Also I'm only third generation american in every blood line except Native American I believe. My ancestors were not thus.
Needless to say I was bored senseless the whole time. We stayed the whole day. I drove back alone and almost fell asleep on the road even though I had my audio book blaring. I was so tired upon getting back to my apartment that my boyfriend sought out food for us, made sure I ate, and then I napped. I think I was supposed to go out with friends tonight but no one called to wake me up so I didn't bother getting a hold of them at all.
Occasionally I need a quiet night, even if I do so love going to the gay club with everyone.
I have pictures from Old Salem, but really...I mean..they're boring. I dunno why I bothered to bring a camera. And some how I have to figure out how to work a five page single-spaced paper outta this. Blegh.
Even after a nap I'm still exhausted.
From Sami's birthday party last weekend, when you could only see partial bags under my eyes!
Going to read/be lame and fall asleep early (again) in bed

I guess you could go by the questions you asked and how they answered as a good place to start. Is this one of those period places where you see people churning butter in their ancient clothes in a log cabin type thing? That's what it sounds like to me, and if so, five papers? (love that eek smiley)
But major props to you for listing Queen as one of your favorite bands. Do a five page paper on Freddie Mercury. I'd give you an A for that
