Wow, I thought my Taxi nightmare would end after my last Journal entry with how I had to call the taxi four damn times to get them to finally come out, since they'd keep not making it here in time, then hit their meter and say the picked someone up.
But no, it gets worse. It can always get worse.
The guy gets lost, and checks his map like a dozen or more times, at a dollar a piece. He has a simple address and winds up going all over town. End result: A taxi bill of $110!!! There goes all the money I had with me to give to Volitare, who DAMN well deserved more than I had for numerous reasons (not just for the fact that her sets, while great, don't do her justice, but amazing moves of gravity-defying mind blowing acrobatics), but any chance I had of returning home. I was starting to think I'd be on a 3-day trek to make it back here, and another $100 cab ride.
Of course, after hanging out with some of the really cool people after the show (though my newbieness shows as I mostly stay quiet and try to figure out what everyone is talking about so one day I can enter the conversation and NOT sound clueless and stupid, heh) I got a ride back with Bean & Shalome, even though I think I was out of the way and I got everyone lost in my ignorance to the fact that National was entrance-only to the 405. I just wanted to say thanks publically, as they are both really cool people. They even gave me advice on how to get around LA without the Taxis bearing their blood sucking fangs in the future... and some cool places to check out next weekend.
Well I'm going to go get some breakfast on a credit card now
