I had horrific dreams last night. For some reason I'm not one of those people that have nice dreams. You know, when people say they have dreams that they are flying or swimming. All my life, even when I was little, I'd have dreams that I was falling down flights of stairs or being chased by a madman. I common one I used to have as a child was about an evil goblin that trapped me in my room and came closer and closer towards me, in a threatening way, until I woke up.
Well today I am suffering from that horrible ''residual' dream feeling that stay with you all day after you've had a particularly nasty dream. My dream last night was short, but vivid. I dreamt that I was in an African country and was walking around when suddenly two men came up to me dragging along a semi-conscous, emaciated, grizzy bear. They started to yell and scream at me aggressively in a language I couldn't understand. I naturally wanted to help the bear in some way and was pleading with them to help the bear. They spat at me and then walked away, dragging the bear behind them. The bear then lifted it's head up, looked straight at me with its sad brown eyes and then fell unconscious again. I started to cry in my dream, hard-out sobbing which I haven't done in real-life for a long time. Then suddenly my Dad was there, trying to comfort me, saying soothing things to try to stop me crying.
I woke up then, almost crying for real, because the single image of the poor, ravaged bear was so vivid and has stuck with me all day. I would hate to think what this dream means if it were to be analysed, I love all animals and any kind of cruelty to them makes me sick, hence why I am feeling so out of sorts today.
I'm sure I'm not alone in my inability to have 'nice' dreams, does anyone else experience this?
Otherwise, I hope everyone's Saturday is going to be a good one. I'm going to see Dita von Teese perform tomorrow night at Koko. I can't wait, I think she is lovely. But right now, I'm off to catch up with a friend.

Hm, I can't remember to have had a very bad dream like this in the last months, which is actually very surprising. When I was a child I had one special bad dream which continued scaring me every night, something about a labyrinth and me not finding out but one night I found a way out of that labyrinth and I never had that dream again.
