Today, A and I headed up to Vancouver today for a tea ceremony event, and then drove back this afternoon. Next time I'm staying overnight; there's something ridiculous about spending more time in the car than in Vancouver. On the plus side -- UBC has a beautiful teahouse, which has one side that can be opened to look out onto the Nitobe Japanese Gardens. It made for a lovely sitting.
I had dinner with O last night, ostensibly to plan a hiking trip for tomorrow, but we mostly talked about other things for a long time. It was fun, but somehow I ended up paying for everything without actually offering to do so (I'm a poor-ass grad student, fer fuck's sake) -- if she just assumes I'm paying, does that mean she considers it a date?
Speaking of which, I got the strangest phone call from O tonight, while hanging with my housemates:
Housemate P hands me the phone
Me: Hello?
O: Hi, this is O...
Me: Hey, what's up?
O: Um, I forgot why I was calling.
...
And then we proceeded to verify the plans we had already made (just last night) for tomorrow. An odd girl, she seems.

What's with paying for everything...if i ask the person out I usually pay, but if we are just friends, you pay your own meal, or atleast get the next meal.
Have fun!
