So I've been a cell phone holdout for some time now -- not because of any dislike for technology (I love tech), but because I get so annoyed by the people who misuse their phones (prime annoyance -- phone-talking drivers who nearly kill me while I'm on my bike, at least once a week). However, lately I've been realizing how handy it would be to get one, and started seriously considering the idea.

Then on Sunday, our DSL modem started flaking out, which meant no phone (we use VoIP in our house). It came back intermittently, and we have a replacement modem now, but I took it as a sign that it's time.

So... today I ordered a phone online, and should have it next week. No more being crotchety about cell phones for me, I've become one of the majority.
