Every so often, I find myself browsing through the "I Saw You" ads; I've always wanted to be seen. There's just something I find exciting about the idea of meeting complete strangers out of the blue.

We were close to being late (one of the passenger's fault, not mine), so I was pushing it a bit more than I should have. Thanks for the birthday wishes, y'all. It's definitely appreciated.

To be honest, I didn't do much special today -- just my usual Thursday thing, i.e., spending most of the evening in my chado class. Two of my housemates took me out for Indian food afterward, though. Cedar's, because I love the bottomless chai (and their food is respectable, even if it's not the best).

I sold my car today, and got enough to finally pay off my credit card. Woop! Plus, it's nice not having to worry about a vehicle anymore, often it felt like an albatross around my neck (but no zombies to man the ship, sadly).

It's been a good couple of days. I'm loving the early spring, and I'm hoping it holds up 'til my birthday (wishful thinking, there).

So O and I have been on-again, off-again, friends, too-hard-to-be-friends-right-now these past two weeks. I was fine when we first split, but what followed put me in a bad place. And apparently, I make things difficult by being too nice.

I just finished reading The Ancestor's Tale by Richard Dawkins the other day. What a fantastic book. It traces backwards through evolution, starting with humans and stepping back through time to points when we have a common ancestor with other major groupings of life. By the end, you really get that feeling of awe toward life and nature.

So O and I are officially split now. Basically, it comes down to the fact that I am in all likelihood (assuming I get a job offer) leaving in less than six months, and O is not going to follow me wherever I go.
