Filming sex... That's one of the main stake of the cinema for the last decade.
And if there's a main figure on erotism... on thinking the erotism... it could be Georges Bataille, the "wicked" french writer and philosopher (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bataille). His first novel, "Story of the eye" (L'histoire de l'oeil) is maybe one of the most amazing piece of erotism, of transgression ever... A true "deviant".
A couple of years ago, a young french director, Christophe Honor (a former stagewriter) adapted "My mother" (http://imdb.com/title/tt0381392/) one of the wildest Bataille's book. To my mind, it was flawed.
On the contrary, a lot less controversial movie, "Peindre ou faire l'amour*" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0431975/) is maybe one of the freshest and at the same time, most true and sincere outlook at sex I've seen for a long time on the screen... a lot more faithful to Bataille even if there's no inmediate claimed legacy.
