One day, summer, to me, won't mean a whole lot of hard work.
I did my tour guide job one day this week for three hours and made sixty bucks USD. Now I remember why I went back. When I meet people, they always say I look really familiar. My job, not to mention the nature of this city, has a lot to do with it.
My roommate's car was stolen last night. Unbelievable. He loves that car so much. If anyone in Victoria sees a mint condition 1977 Toyota Corona with a green paint job and sheepskin seats, do let me know. I'm sure there aren't many of those in town. And I wish nothing but misery upon people who steal.
Our neighbors run a crack house. The downstairs meth lab exploded in the middle of the night a few days ago, and we were woken by a man screaming and blinded in his driveway. The police came, chatted with him, gave him TOILET PAPER to wipe his eyes, and then left him sitting in the driveway. I don't get it. The neighbors also unload stolen goods from a U-Haul in the middle of the night (not quiet), and sell them on their front lawn the next day. I told my roomie to look on their lawn for his car and a "For Sale" sign, but to no avail. The methadone bottles tossed into our backyard are a nice touch too.
The Pixies show on Wednesday was phenomenal. my good time had a lot to do with the people I was with, but the show was also great. I like that it was very no frills. They got up and just played. I got MANGLED in the front of the crowd. Note: If you want to crowd surf, DO NOT flail and kick! Also, being a girl, my face is at everyone else's elbow level. My buddy lost his shirt though, so I think he wins the mangled prize (I had NOTHING to do with that ) The demographic was amusing too, because it was an all-ages show, and ageing punk rockers mingled with nubile teenagers.
I don't eat or sleep much these days. Ever fall in love with someone completely against your will? I seek distractions, but they are unsatisfying.
I hope everyone is having the best week. I think this is going to be a dry warm, flammable forests kind of summer.
Kisses!!
