I went to the gym today. Thanh put The L Word on my iPod so I can watch it while I'm spinning, and it went by SO fast!!! Hopefully this will make me WANT to go the the gym so I can watch it, haha.
I finally got all my papers together to give to the Judge. I shouldn't have waited so long, but I thought if I put it off, it would go away... but all it did was make me paranoid about getting the mail in fear that I would get more letters from the Credit Borough... I'll give the short version of this crazy dillema that I've been dealing with since the Summer.
Basically, the apartment I used to live in and signed a lease with was owned by Property Manager "A"'. Then I got a letter in the mail after a year of living there stating Property Manager "B" was going to be "managing the property". Mold started to grow on my ceiling where there was a leak from the water heater from the apartment above me. I called my new Property Management to fix the problem and they cut a hole in my ceiling where the mold was and said they would patch it up within a few weeks. Months went by and mold started growing out of the hole. (I have pics) Being fed up with the shit they had given me with previous apartment problems, I realized I never signed a lease under "B", therefore, I dont have to give a 2 month notice to vacate. I called "A" and found a bigger better apartment and moved out the first of July. I left a message with "B" letting them know I left and owe them nothing since I was out the first of the month. I got a letter in the mail 15 days later from "B" saying I owe them X amount of money for July and if I dont pay August they would alert the credit borough. Alert them, they did. I wrote a letter disputing that I owe them anything since I was illegally living in mold that wasn't treated, never had a lease under them AND the apartment was rented to tenants in August. (legally, they cannot collect from 2 tenants for the same apartment in the same month). So they wrote a letter back repeating themselves, so now I have to get a lawyer, and blah blah blah.
As far as I know, I'll win since I have eough evidence, but I can't help but worry, ya know. It makes me sick to think about
Other then that, things are good as always. ^-^

Go to legal aide. All states have it and if they don't represent you they give advice. I have been in that situation before also.
