What a bitter sweet weekend. The Vancouver-vacation started off well, we left early, the border crossing wasn't bad like last time (it took 3 hours last time, 15 mins this time), got 2 bottles of duty-free Crown Royal, got to the hotel early and got settled in.
Just as we were arriving in Vancouver, my partner in crime got a BAD headache, that didn't go away no matter how many Advil he took, or how long he slept. I went walking aeound, we were only a few blocks from Robson St, so I checked out which stores I'd have to check out. By the evening, his headache was mostly gone, so we finally got to go walking together, went shopping a bit, and ate down Robson St.
Sunday was fun, we shopped again, walked to Yaletown and ate at the Yaletown Pub/Brewery which was cool.
Today (Monday) I walked to a little cafe for breakfast, then went back to the hotel in time to check out. Walking to the parking garage, I noticed the drivers-side window in the Jeep was smashed out, and upon closer inspection, we noticed a bunch of stuff had been ripped off: 15+ CD's, The faceplate for the CD player (stupid because what are they going to do with the faceplate??), sunglasses, the gate-opener remote for our complex (stupid and frickin annoying!!), the ASHTRAY was ripped out of the dash (??!!?) the 2 BOTTLES OF CROWN, and some other small stuff. SO ANNOYING, for no good reason, they didn't get anything worth stealing, the expensive sound system was still in tact (minus the faceplate, which does render the head unit useless, but that's the least expensive part of the system).
So now we're going to get alarms on both of our cars. I hate alarms, they always go off, for no good reason. But hopefully it'll at least deter anyone who gets close to the cars.
Ugh.
How was your weekend, anyway?
