So....been a long while since I last blogged!
Well, not been up to all that much but will fill you all in anyways about things!
Went out for a posh meal towards the end of November which was fun and at a posh hotel which the last time I was in I was 14 and this time I did see the downstairs bar which is in the corner of the restaurant and the restaurant itself has been remodelled and different food and it was really nice and fun and I got to wear my new jeans which arrived just in time and my new peplum Gingham shirt as well too which looked good, even with jeans and almost wore the shirt with a skirt as I thought the jeans would not arrive in time but luckily they did and it looked good anyways.
Have been out a few times and a few places with Alex but have not seen him in a good few weeks. I think dragging me round the Christmas Market in Bath just bored the arse off me and made me bored of him. I have little patience for him now and the day would have been a total disaster had it not been for managing to get back and to Miss Selfridge in Cabot with only 4 mins to spare before they shut so I could get a jacket(white and blue and grey leopard print bomber jacket) they had there and not in Bath. After that I thought, I need a break from him so I decided that I'd not see him for a while. The whole situation with what happened to Matt has put things with him into perspective somewhat.
So,on other subjects I have been adding to my collection of vintage Chelsea Girl Pieces (I now have a coat and shirt and even a dress too) and other vintage items (Gingham shirt, 2 80's jumpers, one batwing, one with the puffy sleeves)plus a new silver batwing top, plus the usual jewellery and accessories(new hairbands also). I also have been doing well for the vintage annuals too. Bought the odd few CDs too (The Fall,Human League, Eighties Compilations etc although one had both CDs of Now 76 in place of the second CD which is annoying!) and have gotten into wearing berets as I bought a black one with stars in Miss Selfridge. If Shaz Grainger can do it, so can I! Odd bit of new make up too, including palettes(eyeshadows and strobe and some free limited edition ones) and a strobe set plus some heart shaped blushers and a bronzer. Also got a new handbag and a lovely velvet patterned leopard print bomber jacket. I don't wear bomber jackets unless they are leopard print. Had some new jeans come my way and a shirt that went to my sister as it was too big and she loved it!
Been talking a lot to my friend Sabrina and sent her a parcel with a batwing jumper that was too big for me and a vintage Etam 90's top and glitter make up plus a belt and choker. She loved it all and it did arrive before Christmas. Bought the Etam top at a Church sale and the belt but the belt was too big for me. Bought some lovely earrings there and a necklace plus some other odds and ends.
The vintage shop finally closed down and got some last minute odds and ends(mostly jewellery and accessories) there.
My ebaying has been picking up quite well. Have sold quite a good few things, all in all, although it is something that can be rather on and off. Only had a bidding war on my Nikki Sudden boxset but then that was something I got for free in the first place. One of my dresses I sold with another and it was a local lady who needs it for a modelling job so I'm happy that it's going on to be used at it's full potential! Nearly got caught out when sending some Biba nail varnishes and luckily the limit is 4 when I was only sending 2. Phew! The other there were tons of on Ebay so it saves me having to list it and it is very similar to the to the other. Need to list some more stuff though but yes it at least has picked up although that dress that I got back, she now decides that she does want it after all. I'm still waiting on her sending me the address!!!!!!!
Had my cousin come to stay as well lately and it was my birthday last week. Just went to Gloucester Road, got the usual accessories and some lovely green vintage Jacques Vert heels. Was posting Sabrina's parcel that day and was running late so just decided to post it on Gloucester Road. Finally managed to after going to the last charity shop and the post office were still open so managed it! Just as well I didn't go into the city as the post office there was on strike! Walked through Stokes Croft and went to a couple of charity shops there but nothing that was right and the pop up vintage market seems to have shut down now. Met up with my Mum and Sister and had a nice meal and then went back home before we dropped her home so at least my birthday was better than expected.
Been to a party and I admit I did end up singing on the karaoke (Love Shack and 99 Red Balloons) and there was lovely vegan food too. Lovely house too, made me think of our old house. Met a lady whom has a property in France and chatted with her and had a nice day really and was better driving there than getting two buses as it was really out of the way so too much hassle with buses.
Christmas Eve we were in town and just got some CDs but it was surprisingly quiet, as the shops were shutting early just had a bit of a wander later on and came back earlier than usual and then nipped up some things to my Aunty and had a quick tea there and ended up watching Human League things on Youtube on the TV as Mum was at Church and had a quiet night later on anyways.
Christmas was good though, had my Sister and a friend over with us and had a nice meal later on in the evening my sister made, opened presents(River Island bag(that's me going on about Chelsea Girl!) and HK slipper socks, hairbrushes set and HK headphones and Bath Creams and as my sister does not have a bath I got her lavender bath bomb) and then watched some TV (Strictly) then Still Game on Youtube and then we dropped them home later on. Can't use the hairbrushes as the handles are all sticky and the red dye comes off when you hold them but asides of that everything else was lovely so a better Christmas than last year.
Went to Cribbs on Boxing Day but only got a Lipsy wallet as the bag I wanted wasn't there as it was in the sale and couldn't find anything else I wanted or liked.
Went to my Aunty's on Tuesday and saw my Uncle there and had a nice afternoon and chatted with a few people at least there and I have been popping to my Aunty's every so often lately for a cuppa.
Finally got the bag on Wednesday as I went to the other branch of the shop on Park Street and the charity bookshop was shut as they closed early but this time I decided to go to the vintage shop instead of the vintage charity shop and got a lovely 80's jumper. Was going to go to the other charity shop but forgot. Fopp was shut by the time I went past so I just went straight into town for my usual coffee after going around a few shops then home. Mum was out at Cinderella at The Hippodrome with a friend so I just watched Jonathan Creek and had a quiet night.
Went to town yesterday and just got the Miss Selfridge jeans I tried on the day before and their jeans are ok, just cut a little lower than Jennyfer jeans but then I'm used to my push up jeans now that are about the same so it's not really a problem to be honest.
Just been to Cribbs today and did better than Boxing Day ironically, bought a good few berets, two wool ones(Bolly does wear those types!)in red and dusky pink to begin with, and then in one of the other shops they had loads on sale when I thought they'd have none or be expensive so I got three wool blend ones, beige, white and navy and a multicoloured wool one. I did look for a beret before in another shop but whereas the store in town has them they didn't. Also got some HK stuff in a sale (desk pad and paper clips)too.
Ok on the subject of my darling Matt, it's his birthday on January 9th or would have been, have been finding out the odd little anecdote about him which is cute but it is odd to think it's like me and Sabrina knew two different people, entirely, but that wax jacket was legendary. I have a weakness for Barbour jackets now even if I don't know if that was one.The scarf that was in Miss Selfridge that was like the inside of his wax jacket went into the sale and I bought one.It did help to do that, actually. It's like a blue and green plaid scarf and the inside of his coat was like that. He was the most beautiful and lovely man I have ever met and a true one off. We were very alike in a lot of ways which makes me wish I was the person I am now, back then. I never would have split up from him if I was, that is for sure. It is nice to chat to Sabrina about him and haven't found out anything new about him as yet online, but I keep my eyes open for anything. As it's his birthday on January 9th(he would have been 36) I may well write a blog about him on that day. I wish I could call him my boyfriend now or even better,my husband but I am glad I can call him my ex boyfriend. I'm glad he was more than just a friend regardless of how long it was for. He'll always be very special to me regardless.
Well,if this was supposed to be like an end of year review it's not but that's just like rehashing parts of old blogs and TV/Radio shows that do that it's like it would be a compilation of previous blogs and I'd rather keep things fresh and besides,it's been a while since I last blogged anyways so this blog would be endless if I did that.
The usual picture and music share coming up,all from Ashes to Ashes, still my fave TV series.
Anyways, HAPPY NEW YEAR 2017 everyone and I hope you all had a lovely Christmas too!
Picture share now!
Now for a music share!
