Wow it has been a while so I'll update you on what's been going on lately!
Well, Alex has his new job so we're just meeting when he's off for the moment which changes weekly but at least it's a better job and more money. Just hoping the passes the test me needs to complete.
Have been to a good few places with him lately, namely Clarks Village where I got some make up and jewellery and we even did have a little look around Glastonbury centre on the way back after I had wolfed down a lot of the chips we had to share!
Also went around some of the local charity shops lately and did reasonably well, having got the usual jewels but also a lovely hat and some lovely vintage heels too! Have also finally managed to get the eyeshadows and mascara I have been after for a while as a smaller branch of the shop where I get my make up from had them.
Also got some lovely new earrings this week as the lady who donates them had donated a lovely couple of pairs, got some lovely ones elsewhere too including bigger ones and lots in a 50p box and some for even 20p! and also some more make up too. Had a lovely find on Friday, went to a vintage shop that has bargain sections and the stuff in the basement was just rubbish but the upstairs was far better. Saw a nice batwing jacket that might be good for our holiday in October if the other one in the charity shop up the road isn't right or as a vague possibility at least but the find itself was a vintage Chelsea Girl green shirt that was only £5. In near perfect condition too. That's going to be saved for something special I think. Maybe the holiday if it's not colder weather then.
Got my lovely soaps the same day too.
On the music front, have been checking out CDs by The Gun Club, Mogwai(Atomic),Kirsty MacColl, some 80's compilations, (the Classic Pop Synthpop one is very good) and The Human League, Pat Benatar, A ZTT compilation album, The The, Late Night Tales- Metronomy(interesting compilation), 808 State, and still have a new Sandy Denny one to try out.
Clothes wise, nothing much apart from the odd batwing top and did get a nice 80's top too but have stocked up on underwear and crop tops in closing down sales/sales and my Chelsea Girl shoes finally arrived. Going to keep them for special occassions since I wore them for a few hours and managed to damage them. Good condition for 32 years until I wear them! They are on the tight side anyways. The top I got is so grey as it was originally black and white so it's just one for the archive. Have my eye on a red Chelsea Girl jacket though.
Saw that one of the department stores is stocking Jane Norman now. Yay! Have my eye on a nice little skirt and peplum set (don't panic, you've not fallen into a wormhole and come out in 2011/12!I did just say that) and some stuff on the website in sale too.
Have had some lovely silver rings lately. Needed an update anyways, Turquoise and Lapis Lazuli. The second one is my birthstone I think.
Ha...bought some new hubcaps for the car after I thought the one missing had been nicked. It hadn't, it had just come off up the road and was damaged anyway. Anyways, all the ones locally were horrible and cheap so thought we'd go to a proper store to get nice ones since the official ones for the car would be expensive. So we got some and they were not the cheapest they had and we had them fitted.
The front one was coming off on the left when we got home. The next journeys the car made, one went flying off on the way and we lost another on the way back so we went back the next day for a refund and a third was coming off the wheel when we got there!!!! We got a refund though and we have decided we will get the proper ones for the car from the dealership.
Have had my cousin to stay recently too which was when the Thai festival was on which you had to pay to get into so we didn't bother with it!
The son of our previous next door neighbours before at our old address came over by chance one day as he's living in the next city now which was a nice surprise. The rocking horse only got £80 in the end he said. He's been abroard but now is lying low to keep away from trouble he had and dodgy people he met while abroard. Found out after he left that his parents old house is back on the market at a more expensive price since the third bedroom has been put back in.
Still convinced that our old house was the last to be built or near last on the road since it's the only semi detached with double bay fronted which the left side of which was a garage before we converted it, and the house next door is narrower and so is their garden so our old house was wider and so was the garden. Every other house apart from one a few doors up and the bungalow seem to have just a window and door on the front and follow that pattern. Hmmm.
Anyways, can't think of anything much else to say now so I shall leave you all with the usual picture and music share! :)
Just some clips/stills/artwork of my fave TV show and yes I have a white leather jacket and slouch boots and skinny jeans. Of course!!!! The first pic I can relate to somewhat. I should be shopping in Chelsea Girl, buying anything Depeche Mode I can get my paws on(Smash Hits included) and being an all round 80's cool girl. But it's 2016 not 1986. Pah!
So...time for a music share...you know what I like so you know what's coming!
That's all for now! 'Blessed be!' xoxo
