So...what have I been up to....
Not all that much since I last posted, attended the Barrio Fiesta as my sister was in the parade and dressed up but she stayed on and we didn't as the weather was on and off all day and being an outdoor event, it took the enjoyment off it although we had some nice food and bought some nice groceries but just ended up going to Cribbs instead as we had gone there in the morning.
Went back up Park Street on the Monday and went to a charity shop I had missed the week before and got a vintage 80's tie-front shirt and an 80's little china pot with lid for my rings and some other bits, plus an LP by The Associates and gave a recommendation on a LP (The Moody Blues 'Long Distance Voyager' ) which the young guy bought. Nice to see people of that age with good music taste! He also bought a Roxy Music best of...hope he enjoyed them!
Went a few places on the Tuesday although it was rainy but it was still ok anyways.
The Wednesday I know he wanted to meet but I didn't want to,so I just went out a bit earlier to catch the charity shops that shut early up Stokes Croft and did well on the jewels front(love clip earrings with stones in) and even got a nice batwing velvet jacket and a few nice belts too! Went to the vintage market but didn't get to properly look around as they were closing but got some nice bangles.
Thursday just nipped to Kingswood again and got some nice stuff there but just got the clip on pink glitter earrings to replace the ones I have that broke, and some other bits and pieces but not that much. Did get a lovely shirt(contrasting black and cream daisy /flower pattern that looks like polka dots) though at Longwell Green after which was in a sale and something I didn't like on first sight but on second look it was actually really nice.
Nipped to Park Street on Friday after going to Stokes Croft to look in the vintage market stall I didn't get the chance to the time before,(found a gatefold vinyl LP of 'Year of the Cat' by Al Stewart for only £2)then headed on as it's nice to go up there on a Friday in the afternoon, and went to the vintage charity shop and got a nice satin batwing vintage blouse and a couple of Dolly Parton LPs too. Had a chat with the people I know who work there too and it was 3 for 2 on things anyways so I got one one of the LPs free which was cool! Took my camera and took a few pics around the harbourside although on a Friday evening it's quite busy so probably not the best time to. I always take my camera when I head up there even if I don't use it. Oh and my Jennyfer order of the Jeans( I have a pair of the jeans already but they are that nice and faves of mine so I got another in the sale) and sunglasses that were on sale arrived too,so I wore the new jeans and picked out a pair of the sunglasses as I got a few as they were going cheap.
Saturday just nipped into town and got some nice bangles on offer and nail varnishes that was on sale. Was nice weather at least. Wore my new jeans again and new sunnies too. Claire's seemed to have stopped selling Hello Kitty now which is sad although they weren't selling much nice stuff anyways. So the only places now is TK Maxx for the odd item but they've had nothing much in months, and John Lewis for the stationery as I can't seem to even get my HK underwear or PJs and nightwear anymore where I used to get them.Wore my new jeans again and I get my jeans from a french clothes store since jeans here don't fit me or they don't have high waisted that are affordable of good quality. Anyways,it was a good day out at least. My sister Angela called up that night and invited us over for lunch on Monday, which was later changed to Tuesday evening, as she needed our help with something but didn't say what at the time. Angela explained to Mum the next day but I would be told on Tuesday.
Went to a garden centre last Tuesday and then took the plants home and was stuck in traffic on the way to get strawberries and ice cream up at Longwell as we didn't have time to go to Emerson's on the way to my sister Angela's for dinner. Met Edith and her lodger Glenn on the way to Angela's as they had gone out for a walk and were on their way to Angela's to see her as a surprise and they ended up having dinner with us too, although they were gatecrashers kinda,it was good they were there! Had some lovely food and a really nice evening there and came back around nearly 9:30pm. Didn't get the thing we had gone over there to help her with done but never mind and at least I found out what it was. She had to message a website over something financial of a sort. It was a really nice evening with nice food at least.
Wednesday was nice, only went to Cribbs as my Mum had a hairdressers appointment and I just got some make up palettes on a 3 for 2 deal. He was on holiday anyways.
Thursday had some things to do in the house and Mum and Angela had gone to the Hippodrome after going out for dinner to see a show(Chicago) with some others then had cocktails and when they came back we gave Angela a lift home and she was tipsy..had to get to the car quick when we went outside before Stan Smith next door complains.
Friday went to Park Street but got off near Stokes Croft to see if the lady in the vintage market had the annuals yet. She hadn't but got some nice jewels and then walked to Park Street and stopped off at Fopp and got 2 CDs (Spear of Destiny best of and Chapterhouse best of )and got chatting to the manager there after asking about if there's another SOD best of with 'Never Take Me Alive' on it and there is but it was expensive and if they knew what album had the song on it as that best of didn't that they had there and they couldn't find it out there since they can only get that album. I got it anyways and the manager once saw Theatre of Hate(Kirk Brandon's other band) live in the 80's when Billy Duffy was still with them and thought he'd get beaten up as he had long hair at the time but didn't luckily. He actually met Kirk Brandon once and said he was really nice and I told him I saw him when he was staying at the same hotel as me and he said I should have had my pic taken with him as I told him my best mate told me that too! He remembered the song 'Do You Believe In The Westworld' as he said they didn't even have that on a compilation and I pointed out it was Theatre of Hate and that's how he told me about that gig and I said I had an LP of theirs once along with a few other I got given in my teens. Was glad I went in there after all as I almost didn't thinking I didn't have time as the charity shop shuts at 6 but I had time after all as I checked the time on the bus stop nearby.
Went onto the charity shop and didn't find anything on the clothes front but came out with a glass vintage necklace, a Pat Benetar CD and a Jennifer Rush LP.
Walked along by the harbourside after getting my pasta pot which I nearly forgot and saw the stage being put up for the Pride festival the next day and then went along and had my pasta pot sat by the fountain and then walked into town after trying to get some bananas but they were expensive and then after looking around town for some cheaper, found none so just got the bus home and had a quiet evening and saw that my friend Fran has left Rome now as he went there from Spain as he's gone back home for a month. Had a bit of fun winding him(the ex)up too. Had a nice quiet evening anyways.
Today we just went to town and I got some vintage belts in a charity shop that normally has nothing and I also got some nail varnishes and eyeshadows. Luckily I got the belts as the thread started coming out of the one I was wearing again. Tried on a skirt but didn't want to get it and I have one similar anyways even if it did look nice. Looks like the old prairie girl look will get the first airing in half a just went to town again and it was quite a warm day and did pretty well as I got some nice belts in a charity shop, one which never normally has anything, both vintage belts at that, then went around, and got the shirt I was after in a sale, which isn't the style which I really wear that much these days, well,as a one off for a few days since it's not really me that much these days even if the shirt is that style.Oh and ordered those vintage 80's white leather boots of ebay too. Which is more like it,heh. Well they were not expensive and had others watching them so thought I better had beat them to it. Much cheaper than the vintage shops here. They're very rare in charity shops here though. I only have ever found the faves of mine, the beige slouch boots in a charity shop so they are something special at the price they were. Finally found a shop selling my fave Bomb Cosmetics soaps on Park street a few weeks back too. Not keen on Lush, prefer their stuff although it's harder to find it's far better. Not much of a selection but they had ones I liked so it was ok. Mostly in gift shops though. Lush is not very good and expensive and not as squeaky clean (ahem!) as they come across as being if you pardon the pun!
Anyways, that's all for now...will leave you with the usual picture and music share!
Picture share first!
Ok so now a music share.....
That's all for now! 'Blessed Be!' xxx
