SPOILERS! (Click to view)
Not really all that much, since I last blogged but things between me and Alex are a little bit better...we are talking but it's nowhere near on the level we were at,and might not be for a very long time yet but we are talking but the closeness is not what it was and we are just talking from time to time now anyways...hmmm...
As to what else...well,it's been an ok kinda week and my skin is starting to behave again a little better,my fingers are back to normal and I can get 2 rings that would not even go on one of my smallest fingers during the summer back on and off again easily so my hands are getting better...while some people love the summer for giving them a free tan,I hate it for giving me heat rash and swollen fingers..grrrr
Anyways, have been enjoying a lot of 80's music lately and making some discoveries which of course I will share with you all as usual...
Got a lovely pink leopard print mini skirt in the sale in Jane Norman and it was luckily in my size as there was only the one that they had found in the stockroom, they said..also found some lovely blue Hello Kitty sunglasses too so that was good...I have my eye on a Chelsea Girl dress from the 80's on Ebay too since hopefully I'm going out on Friday night for a meal with my friend Leigh and her sister and friend since she won those Chiquitas vouchers and I wanted something a little different to wear too..
Also got a Tears For Fears best of CD with some tracks on it that I haven't got on CD but I would love the special 30th anniversary box set of the album 'The Hurting' as I only have that album on LP and Cassette(my Dad's from the 80's)and the box set looks good too
Nottingham was nice although I only got a couple of necklaces but I found the retro shop I couldn't find last time and it turned out its was in the previous shop of a record store I frequented years ago...I asked a girl who was working in Miss Selfridge and she gave me directions and I followed them and they were pretty much accurate but she didn't know the street name...but neither did the lady who told me last time...I just went past the shop she mentioned towards the tram stops as she said and kept walking and luckily saw it on the right...
Went in and looked around and tried on a couple of dresses but not right and they had a lot of 80's ballgowns and evening dresses but waay too dressy for what I wanted...it kinda was what I was looking for but not that dressy..the bargain rail had some but they didn't fit or were too colourful for me considering someone of my height couldn't pull something that colourful off...they did have a velvet jacket in blue but it was a size too big sadly....I did see a gorgeous dress by the designer Frank Usher that was black velvet on the chest and purple satin on the body and flares out into a huge canary yellow skirt with netting underneath...it wasn't expensive at all, actually really cheap for what it was but it was amazing..but my height would be an issue with it..
No Chelsea Girl though but they said they would keep an eye out for any
For a retro clothes shop it was really well priced,a lot of them are hugely expensive as well...I suppose the ultimate find would be a Chelsea Girl item...oversized jumper or peplum dress...that fits,of course
Got some Hello Kitty headphones in a sale today(folding ones, mine are getting tatty and worn out) and CD too(Japan-The Collection) and it was a good day all in all really too
Anyways, have been getting back into some TV series I like....the 2nd generation of 'Skins' is brilliant and I have the novel from that generation of 'Skins' too although the last and 7th series was ok for the most part...I didn't see 'Pure' as it was based on Cassie from the first series which I was never into but 'Fire' and 'Rise' were great and I have to admit JJ was kinda cute
I still adore 'Still Game' and does anyone on here from the US watch 'Being Human'?
Anyone seen both the UK and US versions and how do they compare?
I still need to get the third series on DVD but I was just wondering what people on here think to it..it tailed off after the third series in the UK and wasn't as good anymore but the first two series were excellent
The UK pilot is wonderful though although it had different actors to the series but it was great nonetheless and just as good...thought that they made a mistake with the recast of 'Herrick' though....Adrian Lester was great and more sinister than Jason Watkins
I love the film 'V for Vendetta' too...saw part of it one night and loved it so got the DVD on the cheap too
Anyways, that's all for now so will leave you all with a picture share and music share too
