As we grow in size of population and as we become more interconnected, are we becoming less connected?

I suppose it depends on what kind of connection you're considering. Perhaps a virtually unlimited ability to interface with the rest of the world would make us "more connected", but I do agree that connection is more superficial and often replaces true companionship. I have yet to decide whether the benefits outweigh the harm for me, personally...

I agree that we're communicating more and more and we are creating new and endless opportunities to connect both personally and professionally, and yet we seldom actually connect on either an emotional or intellectual level. How many friends do you have on social media that are new connections that you have had an actual conversations with that is transparent and meaningful? Do you make an effort to meet new and exciting people or are you busy meeting new and exciting people online only?
