Well, shit! It’s been a couple of months, SG!!! How’ve you been? Ok, a lot has happened…
I quit my warehouse job because I caught my supervisor using bigoted remarks on a non-binary gendered person we both know. This supervisor, btw, is my best friend’s father. My bff is in a relationship with a mother of two, the eldest, 12, who identifies as non-binary. I know this kid personally and they’re special to me, both as an ally for all 🏳️🌈 people, including those who aren’t cis-gender. My bff—an amazing, practical yet personal and compassionate human—accepts them. My bff’s parents do not accept their identity…like, at all! That’s a whole story in if itself, but it grew into last May with bff-dad/supervisor telling about how the kid “doesn’t want to be a girl, anymore. Have you heard about that? She doesn’t want to be one anymore! *Ignorant scoff* Does she understand she’ll have to start getting periods soon and grow breasts?!” I was stunned and had nothing to say in response. This was from a guy who I regard as my 2-dad, as close as family, yet was never approachable when discussing this issue. I ignored him and finished up that day’s work. That night, after showering and eating, I told my bff what his father said to me of them. The next day, 2-dad was no more. He called me weak and pathetic on the job (a first), called me an “amateur psychologist” for my studies in WGS as per my bff told him. He screamed and yelled about how I “went behind his back” and “betrayed” him. (Cont, p.II)
