Ok, in case none of y’all know, I’m an atheist—I spent the first 20+ years of my life as a Catholic.
My grandmother is 93, and needs a walker to get around—including having assistance when out in public. Yesterday, my dad and I took her out to the cemetery where my grandfather (her husband) is interred. My grandfather died back in 1995. She spent $5,000 on a tombstone!
Why?!
Look, the way I see it, that money could’ve been given to either in the family for inheritance OR as I suggested to her to donate to charity. No. She wants to spend it on a decorated rock.
It is her money, she may have the right to spend as she sees fit; however, I have a right to criticize it. She called my tattoos “a waste of money” ever since I got my first.
Well, Granny, religion is yours. 😏
