pretty good time last night at the IFS bash. saw some old school Boulder peeps (Tom is still kind of a wanker, but hell i've known him for 15 years and he used to go see the Dream Syndicate in LA....Big Mario is still the coolest, had a puff with him in the alley) and turns out Veronica is Ted Thacker's new band (former of Boulder's legendary 90's punk/goof band Baldo Rex) and the drummer from BR. that was a nice surprise. Ted is a rocker.
still in the trio format. 70 cent Avery stout, hard to beat. sound has always kinda sucked at that place (now Absinthe, formerly the Marquee in both it's incarnation as a venue and then a frat pool bar that wanted to be the movie Swingers....saw the Breeders there and Rage Against the Machine play a 40 minute set when they were unknown....my buddy Damon says out loud to me: "these guys are going to be huge". i didn't really believe him, but he was right).
missed seeing Lila A and Laura from the library, though.
