So I was bought up in Portsmouth - its something I once shyed from but now after being around a bit its something I take pride in.

Thing is: on one side of town the council are knocking down a 60's modernist, croncrete, shopping centre that while I was growing up housed all the little independant record and clothes shops and cafes. Its full of memories and I'm sad to see it go. Just cos its been labled an eyesore and out of date they're tearing it down.
On the other side of town the council has spent 32 million(and counting) on a fuckin millenium tower thats going rusty before they've even finished it. Guess in 30 years that'll be out of date too.

Guess my point is if yr gonna have a representative view you can't block out one period because it's somehow unfashionable at the present. Did you see that 80's revival coming???

Anyway I hate preaching and I don't think it suits me. It was just something that moved me today and I wanted to write it down.
