Well, Mardi Gras is over and it was, as expected, tons of fun. I'm not going to get into details, as there's far too much to write about and I can barely remember most of it. I had intended to take a bunch of pictures, but there were some problems.
I had stopped at several electronics stores to buy a new digital camera, as my old one is wrecked from 5 years of trips (most of them to the beach). The lens is scratched, the shutter barely opens and I swear if you shake it sand falls out (I'm a beach bum, what can I say). Also, the battery lasts somewhere between 2 hours and 15 minutes before it needs recharging. I'm afraid I had to say goodbye to the ol' girl, you will be missed. R.I.P. Digital Camera 2006-2011.
So, as I was saying: I stopped at several different stores and was unable to find anything I even close to remotely liked. I wanted something thin that would fit in my pocket, but still worked well enough (and didn't require a lot of dicking around) to take decent pictures. I'm not doing high-end photography here (I have equipment for that, HD baby, as I have a film production company [yay! you learned something new!]), I just want to be able to take some drunken pictures. sigh
Well I decided my iPhone camera would be good enough. It's HD, with 7 Megapixels, right... well that's nice until about day 3 (out of 14) of drunken debauchery; after which all photos look like a blur. I managed one good picture...
Not bad, right. But most the pictures we took are at night, and in a dark club iPhone pics come out like this:
BTW, yes it was an awesome night!
I know turning the flash off would help, but I was drunk.
The point is, I bought a new digital camera and hope to start taking pics more for you guys as I have some pretty fun times.
Also, I'm thinking Jamaica or Virgin Islands for my birthday beach trip in April. I'll take suggestions so long as it's a beach destination in the Caribbean, preferably good for singles...
Thanks!
