recently i have been told that i should have the saying "the higher the heel, the closer to God" tattooed on me. i have been thinking about the saying (way more than the actual tattoo) on and off with such endearment. the one image that i associate with high heels are those beautiful signature red soles made famous by none other than Christian Louboutin.
i used to obsess about these high heels every night googling hundreds of images of them. there are so many different styles to choose from. some more simple 'eh not for me'
then the extremes 'nice but not for me'
i'm very particular about my heels. a high heel to me can't just be high. i'm most comfortable in 4 3/4" or higher, but not too high. a platform for added comfort and height (i'm short). they have to have the perfect or just the right arch for the style. mostly i like simple and sophisticated, but some with more glitz and glam. they have to have the right width of the actual heel. they have to be classy and timeless. they have to add some 'oomph!'(to me) and of course most of all i must be able to walk comfortably in them. okay now, i am aware that sometimes one will do anything to wear some of the heels...you just have to be smart about it. there are products like insoles and ankle guards that can be added for a better fit. how can you look sexy when you look like you're suffering in pain or if you look clumsy struggling to keep them on?
i don't have a pair of louboutins because they are too pricey and i am more sensible than that. i do have a few pairs that imitate the CL's i adore....platform, slingback, peeptoe, and black....timeless & classy. maybe one day i'll fork over the cash and own a pair. i'll be walking tall thinking "dear God, PLEASE do not let me fall and injure myself and not be able to wear these blessed shoes ever again"...
smile all you lovlies...i sure am
