So 10 days ago I had my initial surgery to remove a 1cm acoustic neuroma in my ear. The surgery went well (took 10 hours) and the first few days were going well, and I'm SO glad they were able to save my facial nerve even if they were unable to save my hearing in that ear, though they did try.
Unfortunately a few days after the surgery I started having a leak from my nose, and it turned out to be a cerebral spinal fluid leak, which is not particularly good. I had to have a Lumbar Drain put into my spine and was not allowed to do anything or get up out of bed for an entire week. Needless to say I went a little insane.
They finally took the drain out the other day, I was so happy because it meant I could get up finally! When I did get up my legs were soooo weak haha. I feel like I have lost a few kilos as well, family and friends have said I look quite boney (I did have trouble eating this whole time).
Now because im having the worst luck, the leaking decided to continue after the Lumbar Drain was removed. I am now booked in for a surgery tomorrow to fix this problem, and luckily I'm now deaf in that ear so they can do the better option and not worry about losing hearing.
So this is what's been going on with me. Here's a photo of me smiling even though I want to punch something from all this bad luck.
