Bohemia Pulp started as a writing exercise. I was getting into writing in 2017, and was finding it hard to start, so I came up with an idea to write short stories, inspired by BUST magazine's One Handed Read column, that got straight to the point, in one standard magazine page length. I used nude self-portraits that I'd been sharing on Patreon as setting inspiration, and it was a great way to not get hung up on coming up with characters and settings because I had done most of that work when I set up the scenes for the self-portrait strip-teases. I released that as a coffee table book in 2018, and then put it all in a paperback edition without the pictures.
The second book took that format, but I wanted to link the stories together, so I set it during one week in Las Vegas, with overlapping characters linking one story to the next, and the stories are much longer, now that my page constraint was lifted, so it's at least twice as thick as the last one, and we all know girth matters. There is one story in the first book that has a sequel in the second book, and the last story in the new book, Vegas Pulp ties in to a new full-length novel that I wrote during the pandemic which will be published this fall called Full Service.

You can preorder the ebook of Vegas Pulp now, the launch dates is Tuesday July 11th. The print edition should be available any day now. It's been uploaded and approved by Amazon, but it can take a few days for it to show up online, not sure why they can't make that one scheduled but that's how it works.

Bio:
@Bettina May is a Las Vegas-based, Canadian-born writer, photographer, model, filmmaker, dancer, musician, and vintage lifestyle expert and instructor. She has a BA in Political Science from the University of Victoria and started modeling and photography in 2000. Shortly afterwards, Bettina began performing and teaching burlesque around the world. She made her artistic endeavors a full-time job in 2009 when she immigrated to NYC, eventually becoming the first person to get an American green card based on her outstanding ability in burlesque and pin-up. She currently performs full-time in her Las Vegas residency at Lost Spirits.
Her work has taken her to every province of Canada, every state in America, as well as most of Europe and the UK. Bettina has been featured on The Real Housewives of NYC, NBC News, CBS, FOX News and performed for Brooke Shields, Jude Law, and many more. She was the publisher of An Occasional Man magazine, and her collection of erotic short stories Bohemia Pulp came out in 2019.
