As it happens, Earth Hour's going on tonight.

I am a little confused by the bit in the website where they recommend one way to get involved is to write a 'live blog post' during the event.

Anyway. Lights Out, people!

Lights Out! Day Two

Monday morning: wake up at 2.30. Too much angst going on to get back to sleep. Alarms set for 5.00; get up at 4.45.

Getting dressed in the dark. Not sure what colour socks Im putting on. Incredibly, Im not even sure which tap is the hot one without looking I have to run them both to find out, and it...

Ref. Canada - big place but about half the (human) population of the UK. So not just a volume effect!

I'm enjoying reading your daylight experiment blogs; sounded like a magical dawn moment. But have to point out that you wearing odd socks isn't an unusual thing. tongue Toasters - how many years of refinement and they still seem so unsatifying and uncalibratable?

I'm really enjoying (once I'm actually up) heading out to catch the bus for the early shift at the moment. This city's so fucking beautiful in the spring sunshine.

PS We both matter. (Even if it's as bad as only to each other!)

Lights Out!
Preparation for Day One, I'm in bed by 11pm. Set an alarm for 6am - YES if my theory holds water then we should be able to awaken naturally with the sun and the alarm clock would be obsolete. But my body has been corrupted by years of societal poison, so to begin with I'll need a kick start. I'm leaving the curtains...

I like the sound of the chocolate bunnies dream.

I couldn't stick to what you're doing. I mean, it's much easier for me to sleep when it's dark at night and get up when it's light in the morning, but... ugh. At the moment just getting any sleep is an issue. Good luck with it smile
necros:
all i can say is good luck smile im normally up at 6.30 every other day and i know how painful it is tongue

Intriguing thoughts and thats one bizarre show.

Well, there are apparently no original ideas left in the world, so I don't see that it invalidates your idea at all - and of course not only is The Good Life fictional, but it was also broadcast in the 70s... a lot has changed in the last 30 years.

I had the happiest afternoon yesterday. I meditated * for a while, and then I did some gardening. ** biggrin

* I found an online quiz that tells you how open each of your chakras is. I love that sort of thing, and you get your results in graph form. Take it now!

** It's all very well deciding to clear out the greenhouse so that...

What kinda mediation do you do? Are you self-taught?

I've been promising myself for a couple of years now that I'd do a transcendental mediation course, but you have to commit to 2x20min mediations per day to get the most out of it, and I'm not sure I'm disciplined enough.

Baltimore memorial - unknown; didn't see any touristy information about it & haven't found any snap-statistics to indicate what role demographics played.

Sigh, an online test with graphed results? Yeah, okay, I'm a sucker for those.

Glad the groups are still doing good for 'ya. Best of luck with the Vice Chairing (what an appropriate seat...) tongue

I think hooping only causes injury if the hooper is drunk and rubbish.

Mat! I loved Chris before he fucked up and got kicked out in the first heat of the finals...

I think Christopher is too inexperienced to win and I think that andy is too cocky. Mat learns and improves. To be honest though i think they're all pretty good, which is a good tihng because when i start rooting for someone i get really really wound up if they don't win tongue

How clean is your dinner?

Cuz mine was cleeean. I had a big heap of white rice, and some white fish which I steamed until it was all flaky, with some spring onions, garlic, lime juice and just a little soy, and a sprig of coriander at the end. Fuck. I'd almost say it was pornographically good, but porn is dirty and my dinner...

I keep trying to start a post and then deleting what I've written. I wanted to tell you the story of how I just went to the pub to meet Man From the Internet who's been advertising online for a Casual. Keep writing it in a really boring way though. Anyway, summary = he's married. Karma probably doesn't like that.

Keep talking; I'm around. I...
